Beekeeper's Naturals Partnership With Soul Fire Farms

Today is Juneteenth.

The Emancipation Proclamation freed all enslaved African Americans on January 1st, 1863. But it wasn't until two years later, on June 19, that the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were made aware of their freedom.

Yesterday, President Joe Biden signed a bill into law making Juneteenth a national holiday. And today, we’re beginning a partnership with Soul Fire Farm: “an Afro-Indigenous centered community farm committed to uprooting racism and seeding sovereignty in the food system.” In honor of Juneteenth, the proceeds of every purchase made on our website today, June 18, will be donated to their community.

The term food apartheid highlights the discriminatory political practices that block food access to certain racial groups through tools like corporate-controlled food systems and targeted marketing campaigns. Soul Fire Farm seeks to end food apartheid at every level by championing sustainable agriculture, environmental justice, and food sovereignty programs.

Last year alone, Soul Fire Farm started 44 new urban gardens, delivered 1,000 bushels of food to local families, and added more than 70 acres to the wild native ecosystem. Shop our online store TODAY to support Soul Fire Farm.

Onward,

Team Beekeeper's Naturals
